The number one issue addressed in the SE action forum should be fixing that awful mess the city has created on Rte 24. It's dangerous to drive on, and an embarassment to the city.

Well I'm not exactly sure how a street can be an embarrassment - I can understand how a street can be unsafe. But the people driving on the street are the ones who make it unsafe. If you feel unsafe on the driving on said road maybe you should do the speed limit and people will follow be your example.

Turning a public street into an weaving obstacle course is no way to solve a speeding issue. I liken it to digging potholes to slow traffic. The proper solution would have been to condemn some homes and widen the road. Like it or not, 24 is a major thoroughfare into the city today, and will only get busier over time.

I agree. The obstaclecourse-ing of the "Grandin Village" was a similar mistake. Grandin Road was, and still is Route 11, a major route through the city. All that the "traffic calming" measures did there was to move the problem further up the road. Now all the heavy trucks and traffic continue up Memorial and go down Edgewood Rd., a formerly serene residential street. Glad it helped the Grandin problem though.
